The Proposal

On March 21, 2009, Mike suggested that we visit the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg…just for something fun to do. Sunken Gardens is a beautiful botanical gardens right in the middle of the city. We walked around for awhile and when we got to one of the many waterfalls, he got down on one knee and got out a blue box (Tiffany’s!!!) containing the most gorgeous ring and popped the question! Of course, I said yes!!! But I have to say I wasn’t 100% surprised. We had talked about getting engaged before and the timing never seemed quite right, but now with everything going on, I thought he had something up his sleeve. However, I was not expecting that he had sneakily told many of our close friends about his plan and got them together for a surprise engagement party. We had a fabulous time with our friends at one of our favorite restaurants (Ceviché for you Tampanians). Needless to say, we drank a lot of Sangria in celebration that night! It was perfect! :)
